Nest time in Hilo, Hawaii Visit Akaka Pitstop Farm

Posted In Travel - By Bogsie With 0 Comments

Akaka Falls Road Farm Pitstop is on the road to Akaka Falls State Park. Be sure to visit next time you are in Hilo. It’s a short drive from the cruise ship terminal near downtown. Eat delicious coconuts, bananas, and more, all right convenient on your way to Akaka Falls. See the map page on the Farm’s website for directions to both the farm and Akaka Falls.

You’ll love the sweet coconuts, and you’ll be able to see over 35 varieties of bananas planted at the farm. See chickens, ducks, and other animals. Also you might find sugar cane, exotic fruits like soursop, starfruit, and more. As an intentional community in Hawaii, you’ll even be able to stay for a short visit or a long time in one of the cabins which are part of the eco-experience.

The farm is listed on the WWOOF website but in order to actually volunteer at the farm, you must also create an account at their own Akaka Pitstop website.
