Among the two best welterweights in town, who will give his best and who will explode? The much-awaited bout of Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto, dubbed as “Firepower”, will again show how dangerous, slick and powerful these two boxers are. November 14 will be the judgment day. Here in Philippines, people will stop on what they are doing—to watch the much awaited fight.

Miguel Cotto, the powerful Puerto Rico native, knew that he is the underdog on this fight. After his controversial win against Joshua Clottey last June of 2009, Cotto believes that he can prove to the world that he can beat the pound-for-pound king. Cotto, the current WBO Welterweight Champion, is seeking to defend this title on a catchweight of 145 lbs. Cotto suffered only a single loss—from Antonio Margarito, in a blood bath until his father, Evangelista Cotto, threw in a towel to stop the fight. Cotto was battered and beaten by Margarito. This is also a controversial match, since Margarito was suspended after a bout against Shane Mosley because of using illegal handwraps or handwraps with plaster of Paris, because boxing enthusiasts thinks that Margarito had used the said illegal wraps.

Manny Pacquiao, the current pound-for-pound king, will ink his name on the record books if he defeated Cotto by being the only boxer to win a title in seven different weight divisions. Pacquiao came out from a huge victory against the English Bomber Ricky Hatton and the Golden Boy Oscar dela Hoya. Pacquiao was the crowd favorite and has the most odds and will get the 65% share on PPV buys. If Manny continue to hold his composure throughout each round, and if he trap Cotto on the ropes and throw big combos, he will definitely bag the title.

Three great boxers: Shane Mosley, George Foreman and Felix Trinidad foresee the Miguel Cotto as winner via decision. I think they have seen how Cotto used his intelligence on the ring. My fearless forecast: Manny Pacquiao by Unanimous Decision.
