The young Spanish basketball sensation Ricky Rubio is still in the hands of Spain’s DKV Joventut. Minnesota Timberwolves President David Khan announced that no team has made a deal with DKV Joventut, contradicting reports that Regal Barcelona bought the agreement. The 18-year old Spaniard is still under contract with DKV Joventut for two more years—an agreement that reached $8 million.

NBA has strict Collective Bargaining Agreement that is why Rubio is hesitant to join the league. He must play one more year to reduce the buyout. Rubio, the youngest player to play in the Spanish ACB League, was the 5th draft in the 2009 NBA Draft Pick. He was also the youngest player to play in the Olympics finals and basketball experts are quite sure that he will erase records in Olympics books.

Rubio is compared to the legend Pistol Pete Maravich because of his slick moves and passing skills. He resembles Maravich more than Jason Williams.
